Lotus Wood Burning Stoves: Danish Craftsmanship, Locally Installed

Since 1971, Lotus has been crafting wood burning stoves that combine heavy-duty Danish engineering with timeless Scandinavian design. Every Lotus stove uses thicker-gauge steel and heavier cast iron components than the industry standard, resulting in a stove that holds heat longer, burns more efficiently, and lasts a lifetime. As authorised Lotus dealers, Woodburners Southwest supply and install the full range across Devon, Somerset, and Cornwall.

The Lotus Range: Built to Last a Lifetime

Lotus stoves are built on a simple Danish principle: quality must come first. While many modern stoves use thin-gauge steel, Lotus utilises thicker materials throughout — the firebox, door, and body are all built to a higher specification than the industry standard. The result is a stove that retains heat longer, burns more cleanly, and requires less maintenance over its lifetime. Every model in the range is DEFRA approved for use in smoke control areas and Ecodesign Ready, meeting the strictest European emissions standards. The Lotus range also features the patented Turbo-Clean window washing system, which uses a curtain of pre-heated air to keep the glass clean during normal use.

The Mondo Series

The Mondo is Lotus’s wide-format stove, designed for rooms where a broad, panoramic flame picture is desired. Available in M and L sizes with outputs from 7 to 10 kW, making it ideal for large open-plan spaces. Its Turbo-Clean window system ensures effortless maintenance.

The Orbis Series

The Orbis is Lotus’s most architecturally distinctive stove — a tall, cylindrical design that functions as a sculptural centrepiece in any room. Its 360° panoramic glass door provides an unobstructed view of the flames from every angle, making it as much a piece of art as a heat source. The Prestige Series

The Prestige is Lotus’s heat storage stove — a premium model that uses a large mass of Soapstone or Indian Night cladding to absorb heat during combustion and release it slowly over many hours after the fire has died down. This makes it the most efficient option for sustained, even warmth throughout the day. Available in multiple configurations and outputs from 5 to 8 kW, covering rooms from 30 to 160 m². Its cast iron door, Turbo-Clean window system, and premium stone finishes make it the ultimate expression of Lotus quality.

The Prio Series

The Prio is Lotus’s compact stove — ideal for smaller rooms, studies, garden rooms, or as a secondary heat source in a larger home. Despite its compact footprint, the Prio delivers a surprisingly generous flame picture through its large glass door, and is available with optional side glass for an enhanced view. Built with a cast iron door and available in steel and stone finishes, the Prio has a nominal output of 4–5 kW and covers rooms from 20 to 100 m². DEFRA approved and Ecodesign Ready.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why are Lotus stoves more expensive than "standard" steel stoves?

You are paying for material density and engineering. A Lotus door is significantly heavier and better sealed than cheaper alternatives, ensuring easier control and a longer lifespan.

Thanks to the Lotus Turbo-Clean window washer and double-glazing, the glass usually stays clean naturally. If soot appears, it often indicates damp wood; clean it when cold with a damp cloth and wood ash.

Lotus offers an extended 10-year warranty on the stove body, provided it is installed by a HETAS professional and serviced annually.
